What will i do with my place in the sky is based on the sculptures Silla 1, Silla 2, and Silla 3 by Naufus Ramírez Figueroa, which respond to an image in an 1830s painting by Jean–Frédéric Waldeck: a man walks along a mountain with a chair tied to his back, carrying another man who is dressed in white and wearing dainty boots. It aims to invoke and inflect our ideas about weight, materiality, and transit, and to thus empty out language of its most utilitarian forces.

González’s reading is a part of the Biennial’s weekly Performance and Reading Program: Isonomia in Toronto, a series which takes place within Adrian Blackwell’s two interrelated structures at 259 Lake Shore Blvd E and the Small Arms Inspection Building. Invited guests include poet CAConrad, artists Camilo Godoy and Lawrence Abu Hamdan, Apache violinist Laura Ortman, Sister Co-Resister, and percussionist Marshall Trammell.
